Quinn Fleming will go down in history as the man who found two great tastes that taste great together. Utamaro is a clown down on his luck, drinking hard off another laughless party, when he meets with a local mobster. The mobster offers Utamaro a job, and whether things go up or down from there all depends on your perspective, really. With a beautifully simple, heavily shaded, noir style art, solid storytelling, and a sprinkling of quotes from the Hakegure, Clown Samurai is a damn good read.

I am digging the hardcore nature of this book!! I say bring on the violence and mayhem!!
Anybody looking for a jolt of adrenalin and gritty violence will love this book! The most unique style of art combined with the "in your face" style of layouts is just killer! May it rain spent .45 caliber casings and bloody bodies for months to come!

Chicago? That's a plus. Tightly written cop story? Another plus.
Were-whaaa? Yeah, that's gonna be a double plus.
Okay, this may be just me, but I don't know of too many well-done web comics about police. That's a pity, because cop drama is danged popular, and one of my favourite genres.
Thank goodness for Dirk Tiede's Paradigm Shift. It's writing is taut, the drama and mystery is strong, and it's hella easy on the eyes. The characters aren't stereotypes and bumbling fools, nor is setting ignored. This is a Chicago story, and buildings, overpasses and alleys are recognisable and lovingly drawn.
But you're saturated by that other media with cop drama, don't worry. Paradigm Shift has a bit of a surprise for you.
