I'm happy with how this comic came together, particularly in the way that the panels relate to each other horizontally and vertically. This created a small challenge, though; Alex's line had to act as a punchline while setting up the visual punchline in the last panel.
The "early 30's" color scheme ended up looking nice as well, and I think it helped make those images "pop." This comic is also the first one that really delved into the school's past, and it helped me to realize that the school's history had creative potential; I would like to explore other eras in subsequent comics.
When I was working on the story, I worried that I was "going off the deep end" thematically, but I think the comic is just disturbing enough. Even though the "ghost" is supposed to be a real person, she's one level of reality removed from the normal characters, which keeps the events from being too gruesome. In any case, it's Halloween, so dark material should be appropriate.
