Yeah, she's one of those.  A film student-turned-director, she overthinks every scene, loading it with tons of symbolism and metaphor---

All the while,  putting in a lot of explicit sexual scenes.  She's really doing it for the integrity of her art---not that Lafferty really cares about the art.  Or for that matter, neither do most of the theatregoers.

I also like the husband's reaction to his wife's---transformations.  Surely he swore to keep it secret, plus any secrets he might have found out about the Next Level....

Like Stephen King's father he left one night---never to return.
