Mathew was the third son, with two older brother and one younger sister, he was born into an devout Irish-catholic family. Altogether he has twelve uncles and aunts and twenty-nine cousins. Matt's father, Arthur Connor works for an insurance firm in Boston and loves to bicycle, while his mother, Maeve Rooney Connor, is a stay-at-home mom who does fine quilting and is on several church committees in her spare time. The oldest son in the family, Daniel, was a football star in high school and went on to earn a football scholarship to Notre Dame. The second-to-oldest son, Edward (known as Eddie to family and anyone with a death wish), was valedictorian of his class at the highly competitive catholic school which all the Connor children attended (and the youngest is still attending). He went to the University of Vermont and is studying history there. Matt we know about, and the youngest member of the family is still in high school. Bonnie Rose Connor is just starting her sophomore year at Bishop O'Malley Catholic Academy.
