Something I asked myself before I started Surviving Mars was weather or not I?d be satisfied going back to drawing a comic within a finite canvas again. I decided I could, as long as I tried to find ways to turn it on its head every now and again. A lot of web cartoonists seem to feel infinite canvas is the future of comics, others have argued that it eliminates the chance of the comic ever being published in print format. I?ve decided for Surviving Mars, it was best doing it somewhere in between a finite and infinite canvas- be creative with the layouts, but don?t break the mold in a way that would prevent it from seeing print someday.
