William Jacobson (chakat_stripedfur) says: Yep, same as highschools everywhere.  Boy does that bring back memories (and none of them good).  I foresee a lot of drama between those girls.
Isaac Franco (nath_t) says: Smart, yet pretty. or.. well.. i know nothing of the others.. whether they're smart or.. .. the other side.. ( where i am currently :p ) ..  Btw, I'm betting i havent read up on ths or anything but.. whats so bad about a Chinchilla on its back? will it never get back up? oh noes! :D
Arc Stephens (skullwing) says: I really like Violet's expression in the fourth panel. Keep up the awesomeness!
Katie Molnar (kmolnar) says:

Sometimes I feel like ... why did I start this sentence that way? Great. Now I have City of Angels stuck in my head. <<; Anyway, am I the only one whose high school WASN'T so immature? =)

But then, I went to a performing arts/technology/advanced academics magnet school... still had its share of 'tards. Given the demeanor of the other schools in town, though, I suppose it was the only one with ANY measure of dignity.

The other twoo high schools here loved to make fun of us for being so accepting of so many different kinds of people, called us geeks and such like that were a bad thing... come to think of it, they were pretty darn juvenile.

Oh, look at me. Off on a tangent. I'm loving the character diversity here. ^^

Anton Schleef (razmoudah) says: Yes, Katie, most high schools are rather immature and juvenile.  And times it seems like the 5th graders have the right attitude towards school and the 10th graders need to learn some discipline.
paul conard (olsh) says:

To Isaac Franco about the chinchilla on the back statement given the sarcastic comment about using a cart and her slouching beforehand shes probably being held down by her pack.

I think its a conspiracy between textbook authors, backpack makers, and chiropractors.

I used to go through packs about every 2-4 years.

JD McLeod (redkirk) says: Some 10th graders never left the 3rd grade...
Pete Bagheera (bagheera) says:

Trust me, some 2nd year university students in are still in 3rd grade. I've had the pleasure to meet some.

At my high school (free school), in my class there were different groups of kids, who were totally different. A couple of 'popular' groups, and a couple of 'nerdy' groups. (I was part of the latter) Thing was though, they kept to themselves, and the groups respected one another. And when we had a project to do as a class, towards the end, we were a pretty close group all together. I do guess it helped that half of us were in the same class since elementary. It wasn’t all fun and games in elementary. But the class as a whole grew out of it.

E voyager (darke3_voyager) says: i ws always the new kid in school moving so much so i didn't have very many of those moments. still i feel for them

we've seen Racquel before. she used to be friends with Violet a while ago. remember the play-date with Socko?

Amy Heitsman (rainbow_aurora_borialis) says: Sigh, the pretty, popular, mean girl is always an old friend.
Mittie Jane Katlin (mittenjanie) says:

*Sigh* Popular pretty mean girls. They never go away, no matter how much you want them to.

Racquel must changed over the years between the last time we saw her in FWF and now.

Is she a raccoon, a raccoon dog or a red panda?
