ugh. Violet is getting on the nasty side of a rumor. Since im techically the same age as Darrin, he thinks that he needs to say the opposite of what happens to help himself. I think Darrin started the rumor, to keep his reputation intact, even if it hurts Violet.

If I was Darrin, I would want that whole date-thing to be unknown all together. Or as least known as possible. I wouldn't spread tales like this. And I Don't know what he is. He is not a real womanizer, I'd say he too unexperienced for that. Maybe he is a dim-witted womanizer-wannabe, who can only ask out freshmens, because the older girls who know him would just say 'no'. Or he may just be insecure, and afraid to ask out girls his own age... But whatever he is, he does not strike me as evil. So rumors this extreme... I'd say Raquel's scent is all over this. But that's just my theory.

Let not the guilty remain unpunished." in a way, thats the kind of sentiment I have for "rumor-spreaders" send in the military and let em at it! but still, one wonders just who IS spreading the rumors about Voilet and Darrin...is it Darrin himself, or is there another? ...or more?

ive seen rumors like this before even a few about me im not gonna get into details but they always blew up in the rumor starters face so if darren did start this rumor i cant wait to see it explode in his face mwahahaha...cough..cough....choke...die.

That's supposed to be fast? Don't you know the rule that the more 'significant' the news is the faster it travels. Even to the extant of seeming to break the speed of light for severe rumors. To a fair extent I agree with bagheera, Darrin isn't enough of a womanizer to pull that rumor off. Think about, the upperclassladies (I use the term lady in a far more derogetory manner than most people use the term meaning a female canine, I think you know who I mean ) didn't seem upset by Darrin dating Violet, but by Violet dating 'outside her station'. They'd do everything they can to ruin Violet, and since Darrin is about as smooth as a Rocky Mountain back trail (not even used enough to earn road status) anyone above freshman wouldn't be willing to date hime. As such he wouldn't have the experience, and probably knowledge, to attempt this degree of vindictive rumor.

Oh, Violet, you poor baby. What a mess to be stuck in on your first YEAR of high school. It's one of the consequences of our "progressive" hypocrisy: a man-- or a boy--- is measured by his "conquests;" a girl by her chastity.Even if "the Darrin" ISN'T the one who started the rumors, it's obvious that he's a walking ego... which means he's loving the inflation that wrecking YOUR reputation is giving to HIS. and you know that the girls who have it in for you are practically dancing in sadistic glee.... and worst of all, denying it does nothing but confirm in the minds of the stupid that you DID do something and are trying to cover it up. So here's what you do.
Wait until you're in a classroom--- study hall, lunch, whatever--- with both him and the second most likely person to be spreading and profiting from the rumors. Then confess. Yes, stand up and confess loudly and tearfully that yes, you DID "bang the gong" with Darrin on your date. Blubber, tear hair, ask them all if they're satisfied now... And go on to say "And it was my first time, and I always thought it would be GOOD, at least-- but all it was, was him all (dangle a pinky and wiggle it) and-- it took FOREVER for him to get...y'know...READY.. and then he was DONE in five seconds..." And while everyone's shrieking (them with laughter, him in horror) spin around and yell at Racquel, "WHAT ARE YOU LAUGHING AT?? TO HEAR YOU TALK HE WAS HUNG LIKE A HORSE!!" Then when the explosions die down and the smoke clears, rule that school like a Queen till the day you die. :D
