RG Garcia (ruff1298) says: I feel bad for Violet but I can't help but laugh at Brad.
Dan Knightmare (knightmare4u) says: ok i can see why the underage girls are not likeing the sittuation but i'm sure that atleast violet knows even when Brad does something creepy it's harmless in his own simple way
Evan Mainord (darkathanar) says: Well, at least Dawn's getting used to everyone. XD
Nona Yurbeezwax (malena) says: Note, Brad's name takes the same place in the paraphrased lyric as "Loca" the word for CRAZY is. I think this is extremely apropos.
Ralph Hayes (rhjunior) says: The lesson is that doing the right thing is hard.... And it only gets harder when you quit at half-measures.
andrew rocha (nall) says:

The other lesson here is that honesty is the best polocy in therory only.

Sticking up for your own rights and honor sounds good but as soon as you folow the practice you become public enemy number one.

Ralph Hayes (rhjunior) says:

Well, let's examine that.

Did she stick up for herself when the rumors started spreading? No, she had to be provoked. And even then her "response" consisted of nothing more than giving the offender a Melvin... a grossly insufficient response in light of what he'd done to her reputation. It didn't do a thing about the rumors, for one thing.

Did she do anything after the girls started running around wedgying every guy in the school? No, she just hunkered down and waited for everyone to "forget" her.

Did she stick up for herself when she was dragged into the principal's office and suspended? No, she passively accepted her punishment even though it was grossly unfair. She didn't even bother to defend herself with the facts.

Thus far, her entire course has not been one of "honesty" or "doing the right thing" but of trying to lie low and keep her head down-- long AFTER it would do any good. Girl's gonna have to find some GUTS if she wants to have a moment's peace for the next four years, or even the rest of her life.

Penance Arkana (penance) says:

"Did she stick up for herself when the rumors started spreading?" By doing what? Shouting "no, no, that didn't happen", the very thing that makes rumors spread faster in high school? Sure, she acted irrationally, but there was little she COULD have done without lawyering up. Sometimes, letting the situation cool off in silence is the only way to get it to die; no one was taking direct action against her, and for someone who isn't even close to being established, she's in no position to fight the existing social order.

"Did she do anything after the girls started running around wedgying every guy in the school?" Again, like what? Not everyone's a born leader, and not everyone is capable of, let alone comfortable with, dealing with problems in the gung-ho hooah manner you seem to be advocating.

"Did she stick up for herself when she was dragged into the principal's office and suspended?" Pardon? "Zero tolerance" policy means that unless her family fighs it, the school doesn't have to give her any chance to defend herself. I don't agree with it, but fighting a ZT policy at the site leads to WORSE punishment, not leniency.

"Girl's gonna have to find some GUTS if she wants to have a moment's peace for the next four years, or even the rest of her life." Unless you're a meatheaded bully, jock, or popular kid, the nail that sticks up gets hammered down. Guts aren't always the answer - there are other organs to be used.

Maybe this might sound familiar to you:

"You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.' But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you."
—Matthew 5:38-42, NIV

Misty's computer troubles explain why I was having trouble with the comic.

Best of luck to you with your computer issues Misty, I hope they get resolved A.S.A.P., and not just because of the comic!
