I'm Mike Jasper, creator, writer and artist of Schooled. I'm thirteen, and this is a comic about schooled (as if ya' didn't know).

The idea was originally just weekly pages that would detail my life in school, an autobiography, but over the two years (yes - TWO) that this comic was in the works, it changed in format over time and into it's current shape - a daily comic strip about Middle-High School. Over that same course of time, the cast changed from IRL friends to characterizations of them, or rather, what I wanted them to be for this comic.

Inspirations for my art and writing include Ryan Sohmer and Lar DeSouza (Least I Could Do),  Fred Gallagher (MegaTokyo), Danielle Corsetto (Girls with Slingshots), Sarah Burrini (Life Ain't No Pony Farm), some awesome people over at Sal's Realm of Runescape who helped me develop my art and writing, and... Etc.!

Some fun facts about the comic

• Ian Busch, the main character, was created last. His name is that of someone off of a Malcom In the Middle episode's credits, because I couldn't decide a name for him. The name has stuck since his creation, nearly half a year ago.
• Andy, a (secondary) main character, was created first - in fact, he had about a year headstart on the rest of the characters, having been the main character of other ideas I've had. His design has stayed mostly the same, with the hat being the only introduction for the comic.
