March 24, 2005: CulturePulp learns that life trumps plastics while visiting the "Animal Grossology" exhibit.

Endnotes and Digressions:

1. Color for this installment by Chad Essley.

2. You can learn more about the "Animal Grossology" exhibit -- and the books by writer Sylvia Branzei and illustrator Jack Keely that inspired it -- at www.GrossologyTour.com.

I hasten to add that the exhibit’s way cooler than I probably made it look here (for the sake of narrative construct). And it was probably the only time you were ever able to buy rubber dog poop in the OMSI gift shop, so, you know, there’s that. But it still can't beat live bugs and owl pellets.

3. Darrell D wasn’t kidding: There really is a recipe for "Flubber" online. You can find it here. Just don’t get it in your hair or on the carpet.
