Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Here are some early references to computer hacking. Remember that this is years before the World Wide Web, but during a time when colleges, creditors, constabulary, etc, could look up your electronic records.

Berkshire’s hacking skills were probably inspired by a second hand tale I heard an year or two earlier. A Com Sci student got dumped on by Iowa State for having the two strikes of being handicapped plus being smarter and more skilled than his professors. Supposedly, if he wanted too, he could have crashed Moo U’s mainframe so that it would never come up right again. Only decency (and I guess being the most likely suspect that they’d first look up) kept him from doing that.

Otherwise, there is a shout out to Don Martin. Pontiac still exists in this retro-ish future. And an often flogged bad pun off an Eagles oldie.
