Actually, if you look very hard, you will notice that the animal shadow is being cast OVER her left arm/shoulder (right side).

Her real shadow is the same size as her, whereas the animal shadow is presumably cast by whatever it is she's backing up from.

In addition, her shadow is darker, meaning that it is closer to the wall than the animal's shadow, which is lighter (further away).
