ACT II now running at www.paradigmshiftmanga.com
Peter Vine (prestwick) says: Dun dun DUN!!!!
Ed Paradis (zudarkness) says:

So It Begins (soitbegins) says: Now WERE does that lead us?
Peter Scott (petercs) says:

If her boss ever finds out about this will she end up being sent home. Or worse will they decide to arrest McAllister.

Peter Vine (prestwick) says:

Actually, I'm waiting for this to happen:

<Scientist> There is no lion. All of this DNA is human.

<Gina> Go on...

<Scientist> The hair matches, the DNA matches, doesn't that give you any idea who could be doing this?!

<Gina> ....continue...

<Scientist> *facepalms*

Dread Lord CyberSkull (cyberskull) says: Now the question is, which human?
Tiff Hudson (tiff_hudson) says: The cake is a lie. And so's the lion.
Sathar Ricale (satharricale) says: Yes!!! Great plot points!
Kyllein MacKellerann (kyllein) says:

So, Kate's blood has canine markers in it?  A real police bloodhound, she is...  And the "lion" is all human?  That can't be Kate, then.  Dirk is twisting this thing tighter than a silk thread; but I still can't see Kate as the Killer.  At the scene as a non-human, yes; but a killer--Uh uh.

Ed Paradis (zudarkness) says: The killer is the solider that went aWOL is mine guest.  They must of given him some strange new drug to test on!!!
Robert Evans (surllio) says:

Dun dun dun!!!!

The first big clue is dropped.

Ian Morrison (starstriker) says: Kyllein, the "Canine" in quotes along with the talk about it matching the human specimen implies that he found no animal DNA, and thought that the hairs from Kate were mislabelled. He found no difference between the wolf hair and the Kate hair.
Drakanor Dream (drakanor_dream) says: So who else seems to think that the Doc that Kate is being sent to will be the doctor from her 'Dreams?'
Derrick Patten (fatalerror94) says: There seems to be no apparent anomaly in the DNA. That should rule out genetic alteration.

The way I see it, there are three possibilities.

Psychosis - Both Kate and the fugitive have been having psychotic episodes, and in their delirium, have been working in images of wolf/lion stalkings (footprints, claw marks, mutilations of the bodies, and, apparently in Kate's case, ripping her clothes off).

The weakness' in this theory are, Kate's improved healing ability, and her (seemingly unconscious) ability to boost her musculature, as well as make her ears and teeth extra pointy.

Symbiosis - Another organism implanted into her body that is capable of augmenting her abilities and metabolism, and even changing her form (like the Las Plagus of RE: 4).

Supernatural - There is something happening to these two that goes beyond are normal experience.

Or, maybe none of the above.

Anyway, great comic!

Asj Johnson (asjjohnson) says:

Hmm... what he was saying at the end was slightly confusing at first, but after reading it again, I think I figured it out. First, he believes Kate got the wolf sample messed up bad, so he's given up on trying to figure out that DNA. Second, the lion DNA, which Kate didn't "contaminate" is human.

At first I thought there was only one DNA sample thingy, but they were actually trying to look at two different ones - two different crime scenes.

Just... wondered if anyone else could've been confused. ^_^"

Ben Kay (drscrew) says:

"There seems to be no apparent anomaly in the DNA. That should rule out genetic alteration."

Genetic alteration is possible, not every cell in a normal human body shares exactly the same DNA, especially in the case of mosaicism.

Besides, most forensic geneticists probably aren't looking for a human/wolf hybrid, just matches to samples.

Oh, hello by the way.

Fionn Silverwolf (chunkboi) says:

Could be a mild case of herpesviridae lyco.  Haven't isolated the strain yet, needs a restriction enzyme/PCR test or a behavioral analysis...

"All of this DNA is human.  And don't ask me how, but I think that guy in the lockup is pregnant."

"Wait, wha...are you SURE you labeled the samples right?"
