Russ Francis and Melveen Leed were a couple of local demi-celebrities from Hawaii -- as I recall he was a football star, she was a singer -- who had done a series of nigh-incomprehensible Indiana Jones-themed ads for a local savings-and-loan (remember those?). They dresses up in Indy garb and hacked through the jungle in some kind of skit that had... something... to do with the savings-and-loan they were pushing. Maybe. Anyway, they were prime for mocking at that time and place -- Hawaii, circa 1988 or so.
