Death101 Records

This week is one year since I posted my first comic strip! I started out by posting at, which is a free site and was a good way to start to learn this stuff. Looking back, I was not as consistent as I would have liked, but I still surpassed my original goal. I started with the goal of one comic per month, and I was able to move to a once a week schedule, and caught up with me. I got behind on my writing and drawing in November and it took me until now to catch up.

Today's comic is one of what I hope will be many one-off comics about my time as a guitar teacher. This first installment is also a little reminder of the showmanship of the 80's Hair bands. The flash back panels are actually based on my friend Sean and I hanging out in his back yard in the summer of 1990 after had seen Steve Vai give a talk at one of the local universities. We were quite enamored with him as a guitar player, and a showman, so we took our guitars out into the back yard and practiced throwing them around our bodies. We actually got pretty good at it, as long as the guitars were not plugged in.

Say what you will about the 80's hair metal bands, but there is no denying that they were collectively some pretty awesome players and GREAT performers!

As for the rest of this year, I have been writing more and I have some story ideas ready to go. Look for another comic involving KISS next month!
