On March 15th the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame will induct another class...and yet again it will not include KISS. I am truly shocked and dismayed about exclusion of KISS yet again from the Rock Hall. The Rock Hall site states:
"Performers become eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their first record. Criteria include the influence and significance of the artists’ contributions to the development and perpetuation of rock and roll."
So I ask... Who has more influence than Kiss? Is the Rock Hall committee not aware of the fact that two acts in the Hall already (Van Halen and Metallica) can both site KISS as an influence? Perhaps they missed the phenomenon of PANTERA in the 90's and one of the greatest guitarist of our time, Dimebag? Dime was a HUGE KISS fan. Not only did he have an Ace Frehley tattoo, he had Ace sign it and then had the signature inked in permanently.
And lately, the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame seems to be missing the "Rock and Roll". I mean, I like Abba and Miles Davis, but I do consider them Rock and Roll.
I guess the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame just can't handle a band with as much influence as KISS. Hopefully some day they will catch up to the world's greatest rock band.
