Joan Generic is Ed's wife. She is an avid quilter, and also is skilled at crochet, knitting, embroidery, sewing, and many other crafts. She has become friends with Jane Mighty, and introduced her to several of the other neighbors. Joan also bears a resemblance to the cartoonist's wife.
