Hi! I am a new reader and enjoy thinking about what it might be like to do my life if one were a super hero. Thank you!

Chic Geek (chic_geek) says:

yay, Everyday Heroes has been in the top 100!

Ed, you and yours  have a safe and happy holiday.

David Harmon (mental_mouse) says:

Poor Carrie... I'd have thought she'd have smelled something less literal than what she was holding!

David Harmon (mental_mouse) says:

Most of my family's birthdays are in autumn, with the youngest niece's being Thanksgiving week. Our combined Birthday/Holiday season now runs from September to February.  :-~

Pastangum Felinix (pastangum) says:

There're a few pairs in my family too, not THAT close, but my own and my sister's cumpleanos are less than a week apart.  I read somewhere that out of any random group of 23 people, there's an even chance that some pairing of them would share an actual birthday... it's still pretty startling when you find out about such a pair.  Happy Birthdays to you, People-Important-to-Eddurd!

Pastangum "Pisces, if you're wondering, not Gemini" Felinix

Edwin Quantrall (reynard) says:

My Aunt's birthday is the day after mine.

Pastangum Felinix (pastangum) says:

Also, wow, you've been planning this WAY in advance Ed. It makes Shaenon's New Years Little Nemo dreams look spur-of-the-moment.

John E (barn0wl) says:

Howdy Ed! And a very warm welcome back to the Internet! I've been googling  "Everyday Heroes" every couple of days since WCN went down, just in case you ended up on another server. The news about WCN was a little disheartening, so I'm very glad to see it (as well as EH) back.

And I loved the names! I'm a huge John Wayne fan. Fortunately, I never saw the Doonesbury of which you speak, so the joke was new to me!

Glad to have you back!

gwen patton (ardrhi) says:

It's wonderful to see the comic back up and looking great!

Brian McCloud (mauvecloud) says:

I don't feel like digging through the archives right now, so I'll just ask: did Summer previously know about Carrie's middle name, or did she just figure it out now based on her reaction?

Ed Gedeon (eddurd) says:

She just now figured it out.  I know that the comic has been running for a few years, but in comic time it's only been a couple of months.

BTW, Summer's middle name is "Bourne".  Yeah, I'm shameless.

Pastangum Felinix (pastangum) says:

Welcome back to WCN, Ed!

Pastangum Felinix (pastangum) says:

Further thoughts on Summer Bourne Mighty... *record-skreeeatch!*  Whoa, my brain went NSFW all of a sudden.  Never mind.

Carrie Dinah Pelosi should be safer to talk about, although I imagine she's so sick of people denigrating her middle name that she turns on them, as mean as a velociraptor.  She'd be a little Dinah-sore.

Pastangum Felinix

Mark Chapman (aardvark86) says:

I'm not hugely younger of sixty, and I don't get it.

Jim Cleaveland (bobadventures) says:

Well, the name Dinah is good enough for Black Canary!  And therefore, good enough for Green Arrow!  (Both of whom have been around since the forties... whatevah...)

Tetra Valent (4_valent) says:

I am 60, but I had to Google it because I didn't watch that much TV as a kid.  I vaguely remember just the tag line in ads later on, though.

Ed Gedeon (eddurd) says:

@Tetra, you're on the right track.  "Delacosta" translates as "of the shore".  Take it away, Dinah ...

Tetra Valent (4_valent) says:

People Eating Tasty Animals?  They love McDonalds!  Just don't give those coupons to Uma.

Edwin Quantrall (reynard) says:

Nice to see that you're back! Hopefully WCN is here to stay too...

Chic Geek (chic_geek) says:

yay for the nice review,Ed!

Edwin Quantrall (reynard) says:

"So ... how have you folks been?" Cold. Very cold.

Tetra Valent (4_valent) says:

Our Maryland snow finally melted just in time for more.  We've been putting up fences to keep the deer away from the plants in our yard.  Plants which, according to all the books, deer don't eat.  The deer here, though, are illiterate.

Sam Schmern (the_occupant) says:

Watch your mouth, young lady!

gwen patton (ardrhi) says:

You can't have a pint of concrete, my son, you're too young.

Yes, Bishop...

Brian McCloud (mauvecloud) says:

I'm a little worried that Steve know what a pint of concrete in the head feels like, and I'm having trouble even imagining how a story could be so risque (or whatever) as to have a minimum age of 35 to hear it.

Tetra Valent (4_valent) says:

I think you can only use the "It's Monday somewhere" excuse if you're there, too.  Now, if you were in Hawaii at the moment instead of cold, snowy Indiana, then ... Ed? ... Ed? ... Where'd he go?

John Campbell (jcampbel) says:

Summer should ask her to sing 4'33".

Pastangum Felinix (pastangum) says:

Oh my.  From the guys who don't know how to talk (to girls), to she who doesn't know how to _not_ talk.

Pastangum "Axel F (Instrumental)" Felinix

So It Begins (soitbegins) says: @John: You beat me to it.
Mark Chapman (aardvark86) says:

Will you (can you?) attach a TWC Vote button to the new site? I've managed to vote for you by going straight there, but the process is a little convoluted.

Pastangum Felinix (pastangum) says:

Heh, awesome.  My TWC challenge image was Jane Mighty.

Pastangum Felinix (pastangum) says:

Lay off the potty humor, Summer, or your best-friendship is going to go spiraling /down the drain/.

I'm with ya Ed, Daylight Sleeping Time really throws your schedule off; especially mine, since my office just changed me to afternoon shift.  At least I get to sleep in without being late for work.

Pastangum "You broke TWC's top 100!" Felinix

Pastangum Felinix (pastangum) says:

Whew, just a scar.  From the wording I wasn't sure if she meant she had broken off his tooth... I've got a scar on the back of my hand, from years ago - childhood actually, I don't remember how I got it.  Almost completely faded; in fact, I had to peer at my hands for a good while before I spotted it.

Pastangum "know it like the back of my hand - wait, where'd it go?" Felinix

Ed Gedeon (eddurd) says:

@Pastangum:  Actually, she did break his tooth.  He ended up in the E.R., she got a suspension.

As for injuries that you don't remember ... do you read "Leftover Soup"?  Check out this page, and the one after it ...

http://leftoversoup.com/archive.php?num=471

Jennifer McGaffey (jjmcgaffey) says:

Well, I didn't _use_ to read Leftover Soup...and that led me on to Worsted for Wear...and sheesh!

Thanks.

Artie Snell (c-squared) says:

Ed, no worries.  Maybe you can chat with Jim Cleavland (Inexplicable Adventures of Bob).  Or, maybe you two can gang up on Dave Kellett, and make him do another Drive.  (Oh, I see he just did a Sheldon).

Chic Geek (chic_geek) says:

Jeez, you'd  think Uma had herd enough udderly ridiculous puns from those two to be used to it by now.  Seriously, what's her beef?

...I'll show myself out now.

Chic Geek (chic_geek) says:

Maybe she'll cut them some slack. after all, to err is (super)human, to forgive, bovine.  (couldn't resist)

Tetra Valent (4_valent) says:

"Home life" - translation: Liz caught up with Ed.  A couple of Sundays ago on Skin Horse, we saw what happened to his drawing arm.

Jim Cleaveland (bobadventures) says:

Hi Artie!  I'm still alive.  I'll be updating on April 8th.  Thanks for the mention!

And pardon my horning in, but I'd steak my reputation on the bull-ief that puns should be milked for all they're worth.  :)

Pastangum Felinix (pastangum) says:

Time will tell, but you won't, will you Ed? :)  Of course that means we fans have to do our research.... definitely a science geek from the Girl Genius and Trek posters, not to mention the big wrench. Um, what else have we got?

No glasses, brown hair, female, human-shaped... *searching* One match found:

Scary Mary.  :)

Pastangum "I suspect a red hair-ing" Felinix

Tetra Valent (4_valent) says:

Scary Mary?? Hah, good one!

The huge wrench screams "Tigerlily Jones", but she somehow doesn't have the look.  I think one of those past appearances is here:  http://www.webcomicsnation.com/eddurd/everydayheroes/series.php?view=single&ID=106598  but I can't recall the other two.

No clue who she is, though.

Ed Gedeon (eddurd) says:

Well spotted, Tetra.  The other two were here ...

http://www.webcomicsnation.com/eddurd/everydayheroes/series.php?view=single&ID=182172

... and here ...

http://www.webcomicsnation.com/eddurd/everydayheroes/series.php?view=single&ID=209864

Thomas Trant (redlich78) says:

Okay I see you knocking teenage boys a lot. Teen girls are just as dumb.

David Kufner (djkblue) says:

The bottom half of this comic won't load cant see punchline
