In the second panel, Summer mentions that kids with superpowers aren't allowed to compete in school sports.  There was some effort to organize sports teams for super-kids, but power levels varied too much, plus the property damage got expensive.  A few hero-villain feuds got started on the playing fields, too, before the idea was scrapped.
