Mondays and Fridays
Orthoptera include crickets, grasshoppers, and locusts.

Any resemblance to any other insect-themed size-changing Mexican superhero is purely coincidental.

He does have a name ... will we find out next time?  And how will the rest of the team react to him?  Hit the TWC vote button for a hint ...

Time for some kitchen rehab this weekend.  Whee!

Tetra Valent (4_valent) says:

Kitchen rehab?  Did your daughter burn a hole in the counter with her eyes again?

Ed Gedeon (eddurd) says:

No, my wife burned a hole in the bank account with the debit card.

gwen patton (ardrhi) says:

That's why I never use my debit card.  Haven't in years. The CREDIT card...well, yeah, but I pay it off usually in a month. Groceries are my largest expense, I get them online and have them delivered. Can't do the up-and-down the aisles and hauling bags thing anymore.

gwen patton (ardrhi) says:

Oh come on. He's La Cucaracha, of course.

gwen patton (ardrhi) says:

Or would he be the Cicada? With that C on his chest, and orthoptera, I'd think that might be more correct...or perhaps "La Chicharra"?

Edwin Quantrall (reynard) says:

If he's Orthoptera, then the "C" most likely stands for "Cricket".

Tetra Valent (4_valent) says:

@gwen: Well, if he's "La" anything, we're in for some Skin-Horse-style gender bending.  Cicadas aren't Orthoptera but Crickets are.  Cicadas are actually Hemiptera - see the last panel above!

There is a striking resemblance to "El Chapulin Colorado" - what a coincidence!  That ought to provide a clue as to Ed's name for him, but I'm too dense at the moment to guess it.

Ed Gedeon (eddurd) says:

@Tetra: Very clever ... I did not count on your astuteness!

Pastangum Felinix (pastangum) says:

CAMMMM-M-m-bio!  *cracks up laughing*  Clever use of the KA-sound-effect, Ed, and G-Nat's obvious surprise is wonderful.

As for our international guest star, I'm going with Tetra's impression (albeit with no new guesses of my own, and no time to research before work). That C looks like a double-C on yesterday's art, similar to Mighty's double-M.

Pastangum "Yes, on Sunday. Why do you ask?" Felinix

gwen patton (ardrhi) says:

*shrug*  That's what happens when someone with entomophobia tries to classify an insect.  (No, that's not a fear of Ents.)

David Harmon (mental_mouse) says:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chapulines -- it's Mexican for grasshopper.

David Harmon (mental_mouse) says:

Oh, and it seems El Chapulin Colorado is an existing comedic superhero -- are we going over to slapstick for a while?
