And yes, that's his family name.  His wife is Jane Mighty, the kids are Summer and Steve Mighty.  I very nearly named this comic "Mighty Neighborly", but I beat myself over the head with a blunt object until that idea went away.

BTW, the fact that the Generic neighbors share names and general appearance with the cartoonist and his wife is *purely* coincidental.  (Nice-looking couple, though.)
