Funny how the smallest spark can cause the imagination to burst into flame.
I first read Journey Into History: Isle of Demons when Bob Stevenson gave me a minicomic of it at MoCCA 2006. He presents bold black and white art, natural dialogue, and a smooth slide into the beginning of what promises to be an intriguing and fantastical mystery.
Doesn't appear that there have been any updates in a while, but from the notes in the minicomic it is clear Bob is passionate about this project, and wants each page to be just right. I know whenever Bob does the next round of updates for this story, whatever wait there's been will have been well worth it. I was, and remain, hooked, and you just might be, too.

Shi Long Pang is really ambitious, and succeeding!
I very much enjoyed reading this story about a Shaolin monk in 17th century China. The strip is a very interesting mix--it's very steeped in its historical setting (and doesn't hold back on the interesting facts) but the cartoonist executes it all with such a light touch that you hardly notice. I'm very interested in seeing where this goes. Plus also in addition: the coloring and art are top notch!

Cortez had it easy. On his search for El Dorado and the Fountain of Youth, he only had to contend with the elements and natives. These conquistidors only wish they were so lucky.
Come for that jungle ambiance. And the gold. But stay for the dinosaurs.
"Quezecoatl" draws upon the best elements of historical action and pulp adventure. It's like "The Lost World" with Spanish explorers. You can probably guess what's going to happen from there, but it's great ride. Ultimately this raw enthusiasm for the subject matter is what I love about Gerry's work. When he decides to do a story about something, he gets right to the point and has fun with it.
On top of that, the artwork sells it. Just wait until you see the beasties, and you'll understand title a little more.
