Captain Static is Murphy's direct superior in the New Freetown Police Department. Static's power is Electrostatic Manipulation, the ability to utilize the static electricity inherent in the environment to fly, fire arcs of electricity from his hands, cling to walls, and anything else which can be achieved through the use manipulation of static electricity. Static is callow, although this has not always been the case. Recently he was shot while doing routine footwork for an investigation, and when he woke up in the hospital he found he'd lost his nerve.
