Monday through Thursday

When I first saw the sign being posted, I threw up in my mouth. So don't say I didn't warn you.

They know that this is not an immigration issue. ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) will not touch this issue because, like I said before, this is a labor issue. However, Palermo's Pizza is still trying to intimidate their employees.

This is about the same level of hiring that The Pinkertons use. For those who don't know, The Pinkerton Detective Agency was formed in 1850 as a private security firm. They were mercenaries during the Civil War, bounty hunters, private security and when strikes happened, they showed up and left a trail of dead bodies of the working class standing up for their rights. Pinkertons are synomous with breaking up a strike. According to Wikipedia, they are still in business today. It disgusts me that they would stoop to the level of harrasment when people they treat as slaves have an uprising.

I don't know what else to add to the economic argument of why unions are needed. Maybe a video?

Want to help?

You can start by calling Palermo's at 414-643-0919, press 0. Say that you won't support Palermos products until they respect their workers right to organize and do not hire replacement workers during negotiations.

You can join the striking workers at the picket line! They will be in front of the plant at 3301 W. Canal St. on most days. The most critical times to have people join are 1-4:30 pm and 8-9:45 pm.

If you haven't done so, sign the petition!

Now, once again, I ask you if you have the money and find it in your heart to help the workers of Palermo's Pizza while they are striking, please donate to their fund. Thank you.
