Thomas Jefferson said "I think by far the most important bill in our whole code is that for the diffusion of knowledge among the people. No other sure foundation can be devised, for the preservation of freedom and happiness...Preach, my dear Sir, a crusade against ignorance; establish & improve the law for educating the common people. Let our countrymen know that the people alone can protect us against these evils [tyranny, oppression, etc.] and that the tax which will be paid for this purpose is not more than the thousandth part of what will be paid to kings, priests and nobles who will rise up among us if we leave the people in ignorance."
Scott Walker (or rather his corporate masters, because he is not smart enough to figure this out on his own) realized that this warning shall be an outline of what he is doing. Privatizing schools, outsourcing education and dismantling the university system is what the corporate oligarchy wants Scott Walker to do. In the short term this will make the rich richer because they are getting tax payer dollars in their race to the bottom and in the long term will short change the children of Wisconsin. Where will tomorrow's innovators come from?
The problem is, Scott Walker doesn't understand how private business is supposed to work. You are supposed to make investments so at a future date you will have the corner in the market and you will see a nice return on your investment. Scott Walker was never a "Job Creator" he was a minimum wage jocky until he sold his soul to make the rich richer. He doesn't understand this, which is why he is dismantling the schools of Wisconsin, so we break the people to the will of his masters.
We the people have been ignorant (in general, I hope that I help elevate my readers intellegence.) and the corporations have replaced the "kings, priests and nobles" who have risen up. They live in a culture where businesses are not a thing designed to make a product which enriches the lives of the consumer (how capitalism is supposed to work), but instead are just wealth generating machines which rely on cutting goods and service for the customers and rely on a form of corporate communism, where people like Scott Walker are paying the companies so their stock rises and the CEOs make even more money.
Or to put it more simply, Abraham Lincoln once said, “These capitalists generally act harmoniously and in concert, to fleece the people.”
We the people shall not be ignorant any longer. We shall stand up to this evil unjustice and return this country into an economic juggernaught, not for the modern "kings, priests and nobles" but for the middle class. The real job creators. Or as John Adams would call us (And I reclaim this word with pride) "The Rabble." We shall not let the 1% dismantle our schools and turn us into the proletariat.
July 14th was my birthday. And I want to not ask for happy birthdays, although I will accept them happily, but I ask you for help. As some of you may know, I have never been to Wisconsin. We need to fix this, I would like to see Wisconsin and spend several days at a workshop run by one of my favorite artists, Steve Rude.
I don't have the money to do this on my own, but with your help we can get me to Wisconsin. As one who is making an investment in my art, you can receive some art. Check out the video below and click on the link to donate and help me get to Wisconsin.
