If this comic seems familiar to you, then good, you read this last year. I like the initiative of supporting local businesses but I do not like the idea of using your credit card which is the intent of Small Business Saturday. 

Use cash. That way these businesses gets ALL of your money. When you use your credit card, 2-5% of your purchase is goven to the credit card company. The 1% want 2-5% of what you spend, if you use cash, that gives our friends at the small business just that much more money.
