The process:
I headed off to Main Street to draw at a few different cafes and so on with Phil Barrett.
On my way there I stocked up on markers and bought a Tate Etc. magazine to generate a random phrase for each page. So when I started on page one I found the first article in the magazine and grabbed the first phrase that caught my eye. For the second page I moved on to the second article and so on. It seems like a pretty decent magazine actually.
Phil and I started at the Grind cafe, then moved a few doors down to Helen's for a bite and a beer. Then further along to the Purple Crab for a pitcher. And then we trundled along to Our Town cafe where a few people were having a mini-jam, the regular Vancouver Comic Jam having been cancelled. And since that place closed at nine, Phil and I went on to have a couple of beers more at Soma. Nice to be in a neighbourhood with many options available to you!
I made my way home, nodding off on the seabus, struggling up the hill home... konking out on the couch without drawing another thing. I only got going again at 6:30am. And I hustled along but still only got the drawing part done within the 24 hours. The colouring took me to 25.5 hours. And boy was I tired!
