It was Friday night Wine & a Movie, and I thought the Day the Earth Stood Still remake might work just fine. I got a sinking feeling when there were five crappy and fake-y looking shots in the first five minutes of the movie. And that feeling didn't get any better. It was just stinky. They did a horrible job of establishing the physical size and presence of the big robot, so it just felt like a (crappy) special effect. Manien and I both fell asleep before the end, and did not bother to return to it the next day.

 So yeah, that first panel is Keano and Jennifer Connelly. And then the kid. Bah.
