june 12, 2004 - suspicious minds action wrap up

i realize my drawings are kind of crappy and look almost nothing like elvis. often this is the case when i try to draw real people. but i still enjoy doing it. mostly i was trying to capture the weird energy of elvis' perfomance, such as here in the extended wrap up of suspicious minds. not like i think i succeeded or anything.

i believe what got me started on being interested in watching this movie was something i read in a Nick Cave biography ages ago about he and the boys obsessively watching elvis' last recorded performance (in hawaii maybe?) where he was really losing it and forgetting lyrics and so on. falling apart before your eyes.
