august 11, 2004 - the best neighbour's restaurant

at this time i didn't have a computer or internet access at home, and so each week to update True Loves for Serializer, i had to trek over to josue's place, where he generously let me use his computer for my update. on this occasion i needed a bite to eat to get my energy up, and so i popped into the greek place just across the street from his apartment on Oak.

and i couldn't help but overhear this weird exchange in the almost empty restaurant. i ascertained that the woman was a single mom, home-schooling her son, who was having some sort of upset stomach or adverse reaction to the food. and this guy, obviously not the kid's father... the woman's boyfriend? her brother? kept on harassing the kid, asking him a stream of questions intended to expose the fallacy of the home schooling.
