Daisy Owl is one of those rare comics that manages to mix in a whimsical cast, mature humor, and a ridiculous amount of honey. Admittedly not all of the strips are sophisticated, or even above six year old humor, but It is always entertaining.
The Setup: Daisy Owl focuses on the Owl family, that is, Mr. Owl and his two adopted children Cooper and Daisy. Often Owl's best friend, Steve the Bear, will add himself to the hijinx, eventually getting Mr. Owl as an assistant at his research lab because the company gets better insurance rates if their bear has a wacky owl sidekick.
The Art: The art is certainly not complicated, though it does get more complex as it goes on. Generally though if pure art is what you're looking for Daisy Owl is not for you. This is another one of those comics that requires an appreciation of story telling and humor more than anything else. Not to mention it's monochrome.
The Story: This is another one of those comics that doesn't have a real storyline. Certainly time goes on, and you can see as the characters change with time, and there are flashbacks revealing the characters' pasts, but there's no coherent storyline. That's not what this comic is about. This is all about comedic gold, leaving a wonderful afterthought once it's finished.
Finale: All in all, this is a comic that I would reccomend to anyone whose focus is on writing and jokes, if the focus is on the art this just ain't for you.
