Panel 1: As shown in Paul Quinn's CREW OF THE WANDERLUST, Queen Azule sent Jessica to Earth as a child. It was for her own good -- the planet Sandaria was being invaded at the time -- but it meant Jess grew up as an orphan, and it's the source of much bad feeling between them.

Paul saw this crossover as an opportunity to resolve the conflict between Azule and Jessica, having them bond over their mutual concern for Samantha. He worked out a long dialogue sequence to cover it, but in the interest of moving the story along, I cut out all but the beginning and end of it. Sorry, Paul.

Panel 2: And my own character Phantos makes the scene. He is a cosmic wanderer, able to travel between dimensions, control his mind and body, and knows a fair bit of magic as well.

Panel 3: Phantos has never met any of these folks personally, but he knows a lot about them...because he knows a lot about all kinds of things. Madame Boogala seems to know him by reputation as well. The implication that Phantos is connected to Madame Jade is something that hasn't come up before...notice how quickly he changes the subject.
