Okay, first comment should be about the comic idea as a whole. It's a long story, so I'm gonna give you enough time to go grab some popcorn before you start reading this. I guess it all started around two years ago, I had just read my first webcomic. Now, you have to understand that I've been reading comics since I can read, but this is the first time I saw a way of making comics without being a profesional. Ideas quickly filled my head, this was my chance to come up with something really cool. About five minutes later I noticed a slight snag in my plan, I can't draw. I thought that maybe I could take a course, and I did. I produced things that are so bad that they should not have been seen by human eyes. I pity my teacher. Anyway, I thought that maybe I could find somebody that could draw the comics for me. That's when I realized how different I am from my normal school community.
It was clear that nobody at my school had ever read, even less drawn a comic. I tried to introduce the people I knew to webcomics and comics in general, but they found it too nerdy. Very few people were even remotely interested, and the one's that were refused to help me with my own comic idea. I started to look outside of my school for people who could help me. Many thought that I could never write anything good at the age of 14, many others that read the script found it to be very deep and complex, which they were not interested in either. Too many people wanted to do a strictly comedy comic, since mine involved complex characters and intense fights, they really weren't looking forward to doing this. Later when I was 15, I tried looking for people on the internet, a few were interested but they wanted to get some money out of it. I really can't see how, this is a webcomic, not a Marvel series. Eventually I met a person who wanted to work my storyline and was not interested in printing the thing for cash.
Production began immediately. He loved how I directed him to make a certain character this way or that and I loved how he did everything so well it was hard to choose what went into the final cut. I was a superhero comic, I guess I should talk about that later to not make this any longer than it's already. Anyway the thing was that weworked on this comic for about two months, I noticed he was slow. Really slow. By that time we only produced seven comics. Even when he knew what he was supposed to do he took a week to do it right. Eventually arguments erupted into fights that stopped production all together. the comic was dead and it hadn't started yet.
I really thought that was the end of it, and then Ema, who has been a friend for a long time, became interested in the idea of making a webcomic. I thought it would be impossible because he couldn't draw, but he suggested we should do a sprite comic. This really limited what I wanted to do with some characters, but it was great idea. So that's how we got here. The comics original story is something i'm willing to share...later.
By the way, the original idea was to have Joe wear a different funny shirt everyday. These were supposed to be taken from my extensively(EXTENSIVELY) long list of funny t shirts in my room. On the first one he was supposed to be wearing ashirt that said "This shirt is NOT black", a reference to Borat. You can probably still pick this shirt up at www.snorgtees.com. That's where I get all my shirts unless i state otherwise. I still like this idea and I think i'll just add what he would be wearing here to keep some of the jokes from going to waste (and justifying $7 for a t shirt)
