Angiras Arya and Derek Stevenson ||
Angiras Arya was last seen pursuing, dodging, tackling and being violently wrestled to the ground by a PhD at Princeton. He lives with his wife, Kani, and their daughter, Amaidhiameya. Angiras has been a professional mooch, teacher, musician, tour-guide, juice bar boy, loan officer, landlord, health food store hanger-arounder, writer, realtor, agnostic reverend and, of course, graduate student. He first began writing the adventures of Chark and Marlie when he was about seven years old, and he figures it's about time they had their story told. He has lived in India and Europe, and now lives in the Delaware valley, in NJ. Derek Stevenson was the brilliant mastermind behind a devilish scheme to make his High School smell like butyric acid. But somehow he still managed to be the Valedictorian, study marine biology at Stanford, and retain his insanity. He and his wife, Hilary, are the proud parents of Iris and Hewitt, twins born on Feb. 6th, 2006. Derek has been many things, but in a perfect world he would probably be a dolphin that can art (a neologism of his) and lead tours through India. He has lived in more countries than you can possibly imagine, speaks seven languages, and has played with the Chicago Bulls. He is now a professional geek, and is excited to be part of this creative community. Derek and Angi have been friends since Derek turned around on the school bus and carefully and kindly explained to Angi that no one likes nerds. They went to the American Embassy School in New Delhi, India, where they collaborated on such projects as "Life as an Embryo," a critical discussion of Brave New World set to the tune of the Muppet's theme; the senior play, where they were completely irrelevant clowns; and numerous Monty Python routines. They also crashed weddings with Marc Wollemborg, at whose wedding, 11 years later, they decided to write a Graphic Novel. After two years of composition, "Memory Seeker," the first chapter of "The Rod of P'tgellion," a sprawling epic, appeared on www.webcomicsnation.com on January 1st, 2006. Artwork and writing are evenly shared. Developing the stories and characters, the layout, and the storyboarding is all collaborative. Angi provides the structure and history of the multiverse and the central characters. Derek provides much-needed technical expertise, discipline, efficiency and time-management skills. Ever since Feb. 2006, neither has provided anything whatsoever, since they are too busy being grown-ups. The authors can be reached at diapheron@yahoo.com. |
