My apologies for the late update. I completed the third leg of a job interview, and now I can resume a more or less normal life.

For those who live under a rock: The Reverend Jim Wright popped back into the spotlight this week, embarrassing his former protégé, who subsequently did all he could to sever ties publicly with the man. However, if I hear the phrase "thrown under the bus" one more time, I will literally throw up. Under a bus. Or in the face of whoever says it.

I blogged already today about some of the odder aspects of this teapot controversy, especially the racial aspects. But what really gets me is how silly it all is, at least from my atheist perspective. "God damn America? Sure, why not get the tooth fairy to do it? Just as effective."
