Although I have been meaning to address this issue for some time, I was spurred to cartooning action by hearing last night’s NPR broadcast of
David Barsamian’s great interview with
Maude Barlow, author of
Blue Gold and many other books on the global water crisis. My humble doodle addresses only a small piece of a vast problem — namely, the promotion of free market ideology by the World Bank and International Monetary Fund to privatize water supplies in the developing world (mostly the Southern half), even though major industrial countries have benefited greatly from access to publicly run water utilities. And, obviously, the ridiculous bottled water phenomenon. Jeziz, wot a waste.
