Tuesday and Thursday
Rudy Giuliani weighs in on waterboarding. He's such a card.

Joe Conason suggested it, I ran with it. I nabbed the Giuliani quote on waterboarding from this NY Times article. Senator John McCain, who oughtta know what torture looks like, made a smart rebuttal.

This was not the first time Giuliani has taken the "tough" stand (read: "ignorant") on  waterboarding. Check out his comments during the Republican debate in May 2007. And recently he has made troubling implications about his time as mayor:

Now, intensive questioning works. If I didn't use intensive questioning, there would be a lot of mafia guys running around New York right now and crime would be a lot higher in New York than it is. Intensive question has to be used. Torture should not be used. The line between the two is a difficult one.

As for Mukasey, I criticized his dithering and the right wing echo chamber criticism of aghast Democrats over at my blog
