News for 2006-05-11

[Update: I apologize for not having a strip up for Monday. I've just managed to replace the motherboard in my computer (MSI K8N Neo Platinum 4 with an ASUS A8N-SLI) because the old one was my 2nd to last, best hope for peace.. I mean, 2nd to last option for my random lockups. Hope this fixes it.]

Well. This time we did the "pencil and ink then color in photoshop". I quickly remembered that the reason why I was doing Wacom in the first place is that I never really figured out how to do the fancy layering right with that method (that is, it's harder to paint *under* the lines). Not to mention that when you scan, the lines don't stay entirely solid, so it's not as clean looking.

I've decided for now to stick with 3 days a week for a couple reasons, but mostly because I need to have time to relearn skills that I've forgotten, and while doing a comic I'm under a (self-imposed) deadline, and I don't have the right amount of attention to learning things right.

The jury is still out on the comment/news integration thing right now. At the moment I'm using a HTML fragment that I edit in EditPlus (which I like a lot, incidentally) and then paste into the proper module box in WCN. Problem with that is there's very little way in the fashion of archives, which is okay for, say, the PA or MT type of comments, but not so great for the PVP type "news" posts and what not.

That's all for now.
