This strip is inspired by this little bit from over here. There really isn’t much more to say about it than that, I think. Well, other than the DS screen in the last panel is from this article. Yay for portable hentai! I finished Gears of War last night (thanks to the helpful volunteers over at GameFAQ, I should add). On the whole, I think it’s great game. I’ll have to go through it and do the whole walk-though to find all the COG tags, and maybe do it on Hardcore instead of Casual. So now that I’ve finished that, I’ve taken a little break and I’m looking at a couple of demos. I’ve played the Lost Planet demo a few times and I gotta say that I don’t really understand what the big deal is. Sure, it’s pretty and all, and hey who doesn’t like fighting on Hoth… (er Snowy Arakis… whatever that planet is…) It seems like the demo portrays a run-and-gun style that, having just played a few weeks of GoW, suddenly seems strangely dated. I’ve heard rumblings that the full game is more satisfying, and I can’t deny that the marketing clips of large battles between Rebels and Imperials… (er… humans and space pirates… again, whatever) are enticing, though pondering how many of those big online battles won’t consist of people yelling over and over again “that armor’s too strong for blasters!” does not fill me with optimism. Crackdown - I played a little of it before I sat down to “draw” (such as it is) the strip tonight. I’ve never been a fan of the GTA series, and sandbox games haven’t held a lot of allure for me. That said, Crackdown seems to be at least a solid demo. I foolishly picked the large truck at the start, which is great for the squashing of pedestrians (gang-affiliated or no), but not so great for the racing through checkpoints bit. Still in my “to do” list are R6-Vegas and Ghost Recon, which I may get to this weekend, resulting in my rambling about them perhaps on Monday. I’d like to note that it’s fucking cold and snowy here in Denver AGAIN and I’d like to officially request someone get it to knock the fuck off. Thanks. |
