The class I mentioned is a CS class I'm taking for my long-meandering kinda-CS master's degree.
Now, I realize that there's some virtue in learning how to do things the hard way before you do them the easier way when it comes to engineering and science. However, it's a Master's degree and well, you'd think people would have done the basics by now.
Of course, this doesn't seem to be the case. They admit people who do not have the same sort of requisit CS/IT background for the program, so there's a buncha classes where we learn how to count in hexdecimal and use printf. Tonight it was "do string manipulation in C without using string.h to make your brain not eat itself".
Oh well, only 2 more weeks. Anyway! Yeah, so like, $1000 on Thomas the Tank Engine toys (yeh I know that it's the NYT, but use bugmenot or find it on Google News)". Craziness. I don't think my parents spent that much on me in any way shape or form other than for school-related stuff! And now look at me, drawing rude pictures on the intarbutts. Oh the glories of education in America!
