I think the reason I'm shy with new people is that I generally start off assuming that nobody wants to hear what I have to say.  I only open up and act like my loud ridiculous self when I've gotten some reassurance that somebody really does want to listen to me.

To go with the usual complaint, I just don't get how anyone can enjoy spending time with their family.
