Signy was born in an era when the vicious civil war between the twin planets of Tertia and Secuba had led to the creation of "mod-children", who were given puberty-delaying drugs to keep them perpetually young-looking, the perfect "sleeper" soldiers in an ongoing struggle for victory at all costs. Signy was one of the first test subjects. In the intervening 70+ years she has seen her world change from an embattled colony into a totalitarian state that's in the process of claiming total victory over its long-time enemy and former colonial ruler.
