The Hebrew fears the worst in life. He was born a slave in Athens, so he doesn't know much about his parents' ancestral deity. What little they've told him - of a God who chose his people as His favorites, and that this decision has made them the subject of persecution, calamity, and the capture of their homeland by the Persians - fills him with dread. His general philosophy has thus become to live life with his head down - perhaps that way he can avoid catching the attention of his people's God... Back to the Cast Page
