Pen, brush and ink on 11 x 17 paper
Tools: Hunt 102 and 108 nibs, a #2 watercolor brush and a bottle of Koh-I-noor India ink.
This was probably the most time-consuming of all the pages that I’ve worked on so far. One afternoon an old girlfriend and I were raking leaves for my grandparents when I lived in Quebec and it turned into a photo shoot.
I buried her in dead leaves and she was a trooper holding various poses out in the cold. The drawings were a killer. It started becoming a “Where’s Waldo?” scenario trying to decipher the light from the shadows on the billion leaves.
