T'aal is the empress of the Chakul Empire, which is comprised of border planets and moons near the Phaylen core worlds. The Chakul are a race of militaristic and sometimes barbaric feline-like humanoids that place great importance in warrior skills and military strategy. The Chakul are a matriarchal society in which the males of the race are placed in bondage and cannot hold any official rank or privileges. The males in her empire are only used for breeding and cannon-fodder. Taal, as being the Empress of the Chakul, has defeated many other intelligent races on her planet and other worlds who had far more superior technology and weapons but the Chakul still came out on top of the food chain. What they lacked in technology the Chakul made up for in sheer ferocity, raw brutality, and superior fighting ability. Danthalus saw just how much training and tactics made a difference on the battlefield when the Phaylen tried to invade the Chakul worlds. The Phaylen were quickly outmatched even though they had technology and massive numbers they could not gain the upper hand in strategy or fighting prowess. Danthalus observed this and thought it would be more beneficial if T'aal were an ally and not an enemy. T'aal joined reluctantly, knowing that eventually the Phaylen Empire's superior numbers and advanced weapons would eventually be victorious through attrition. T'aal, along with being highly skilled in armed and unarmed combat, she has many other abilities accredited to her race: enhanced strength, enhanced speed, enhanced reflexes, superior senses, superior stamina and agility. The Chakul females are all granted with a special ability to shape-shift into a hulking, unstoppable battle-cat form resembling the sabretooth cat of planet Earth's prehistory. In this form all the females become nearly unstoppable killing machines with no end to their fury. T'aal joined Danthalus for the very same reason Kor'dus joined him: to protect her race from enslavement by the Phaylen and keep them free from Danthalus' tyranny. Back to the Cast Page
