GET IN TOUCH WITH YOUR INNER GEEZER

This cartoon happened to me a few months ago. The grocery store was playing hellaciously good classic rock, and I mean really heavy stuff. Almost against my will, I started doing a little head banging and softly singing along. Then I noticed that the stocker was grinning at me. "What?" I asked. "I really like this music, too," he said. And then I turned bright pink. The next week I saw a little kid dancing in the aisles. His mom said he loves to dance to classic rock. When I was a kid, the grocery store played swing music, like "In the Mood" and "Take the A Train". I liked it, but I definitely considered it geezer music. In a way, it seemed like the grocery store was giving me one of those watermark moments. Were they saying that classic rock is now easy listening? That doesn't feel right, somehow, and I'm still pondering the symbolism of it.
