GET IN TOUCH WITH YOUR INNER GEEZER

This cartoon came from my real life, in a way. Several years ago I bought a blue and white toile shirt. At the time, toile was enjoying a resurgence of popularity. Toile, for the decoratingly challenged, is a fabric that features a repeating historical motif, done in one color (any color). You pronounce it thusly: "twol". Usually, people either love toile (in small doses) or hate it (in large doses). Even from the first wearing, I noticed a strange side effect associated with this shirt. Every time a gay man saw my toile shirt, he would run to me and begin fondling the fabric, saying things like, "Toile! Toile! I did my living room in toile!" In fact, more than once I've been wearing the toile shirt and heard, "Toile! Toile!" before I even realized that a gay man was in the room. I came to the conclusion that toile is some sort of gay magnet. The last time I wore the shirt, and I swear this is true, I had to remove the gentleman's hands from it, so entranced was he with the toileness of it. To my wonderful gay brothers, I say, "Long live the toile!"
