We are now embroiled in an intense power struggle as the Democratic Congress fulfills its destiny to implement the changes that voters demanded in the 2006 Midterm elections.  The Bush administration perceives these changes as hostile, but I'm convinced that they will happen, anyway.  This cartoon makes note of the criticism leveled at Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi for her recent trip to Syria.  She wore a scarf while she was in Syria, as a sign of respect for Syrian culture.  As I watched her on the tv news during her trip, that scarf became a symbol to me of the current political climate.  I admire Nancy and her efforts, and I hope for more cooperation between the Bush administration and Congress.  By the way, Nancy has said that she may make more trips to the Middle East in the future.  So, have scarf - will travel.
