One afternoon the caption for this cartoon just happened, for no apparent reason.  I had the Rolling Stones song "Brown Sugar" stuck in my head, and I idly wondered what kind of sugar would be good for describing old ladies.  Cane sugar?  Nope.  Beet sugar?  Nuh-uh.  Corn syrup?  Actually, that would be pretty funny, too.  But that day powdered sugar popped into my head, and I thought it had the proper antique flavor.
