GET IN TOUCH WITH YOUR INNER GEEZER

Sometimes we inherit our sense of humor, which is something my paternal grandmother claimed was responsible for mine. When I was six years old, she took me to pay our respects to a dead relative at the funeral home. I'd never seen a dead person before, but I recognized him and wondered why he was so still. In a spontaneous gesture of affection, I reached into the coffin and took his hand. It felt so very different. My grandmother went into a tizzy when she saw this, and we left. We got the giggles on the way home, and she said, "Pat, you've inherited the English sense of humor from our English ancestors. I have it, too. You'll always laugh at inappropriate situations and times, so get used to it". At this point, I'm glad that I did inherit it, because it's definitely the defining factor in all my cartoons, and that's fine with me. Today there are 879 cartoons on this website for you to see.
